Why write a blog?
With over 400 million blogs on Tumblr alone and over 1 billion websites, why the hell am I getting involved?  What have I got to add that hasn’t already been written a billion times?

When you look at the number of blogs out there, the number of aspiring writers that never make an impact, the number of people that are clamouring to be heard online, why would you ever want to get involved and start adding your 2 pennies’ worth?

Well there had better be a HUGE why if you are going to find the energy and motivation to do it and keep doing it.

So I thought I would start with my motivation for this blog to help you understand what you can get out of it, and as a post I can come back to time and time again if I ever lose my direction with what I am doing.

WHY?

Here are the main reasons why I am writing this blog:

  1. To share what I have learned.  I have a vehicle to share what I have learned about entrepreneurship and business at Rebel Business School but I don’t have anywhere to share anything else about how to make your dreams become reality, self-development, movie writing, financial independence and more.  So this is my site to share with you the ideas, insights and tools that have truly made a difference in my life and created the life I am living now!
  2. To help you.  Over the last decade or so I have learned that helping others, contributing to society and people is one of the most rewarding things you can do with your time, and the more I do it with Rebel the more I am rewarded.  I have so much more to give than just entrepreneurship advice, which is why I have started this blog:  to give you everything that I have learned over the years and share my experiences
  3. To challenge the traditional ways of doing things.  Over the years I have been told that there is only one way to do things, conditioned by society to follow the traditional path and to fall in line.  It has been incredibly painful at times standing up to the traditional bullshit that is spouted but it has become a calling of mine.  I want to challenge the traditional shit advice that is given and give another perspective on life and different ways to live it. Be prepared to be challenged at times on this blog
  4. To have a platform to share. I want something more stable than social media that I have control over and I can share with you exactly what I want to share.  Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms have given us an incredible way to communicate and have so many positives.  The one thing they don’t give me is a true platform to share long form content to people around the world.  Here on my own blog, I have control over what I share and publish and I can really build long-term resources for you designed to really help you make progress. This gives me the control that I want to be able to do this

Here I am writing my first ever blog post:

Everything starts with a first step, and this is mine.  The first blog post on my blog.  I am so excited to share with you the ideas, tools and tactics that have made such a difference in my life and this is the first step!  It’s not perfect by any means but if you want to get to version 2 then you have to launch version 1!  Here is version 1 of my blog and website.  Enjoy and please comment below and tell me what you think.

It is your comments, feedback and interaction that is going to drive me to keep contributing.
