Extraordinary London
Katie and I have had an idea! We are going to to host the first ever large scale Financial Independence (FI), Financial Freedom, Extraordinary Life event in the UK.
After the success of the New Zealand Tour, we are so excited to be in the UK and Ireland in April and May and we want to do something special, something for you, something fun.
We are organising a Financial Freedom tour of the UK and Ireland and running meetups all around the country. We are coming back to the UK to receive our British Empire Medals (BEM) for services to Financial Education and were wondering how to celebrate.
What better way to celebrate than giving away a weekend course and getting to spend an entire weekend with like-minded people working on improving finances and creating extraordinary?
The Extraordinary Life Course
We realised many years ago that money is cool, but it wasn’t the money we were after. It was the opportunity, the freedom, the time to build our lives exactly as we wanted them to be.
Sorting out your finances gives you more time and space to be with your loved ones, work on the things that matter the most to you and have the time to look after yourself.
We started to talk to people about lifestyle design, travel and finding purpose. We got so excited about the subject, read all the books, went on all the courses. We learned so much and we wanted to share what we had learned. This is the genesis of every course we run.
We did a weekend event at the Mr Money Mustache World HQ in Longmont. MMM named it The Extraordinary Weekend and 100 people turned up. We had so much fun. That went so well that we ran a 5 week online course to share the ideas further and wider. Thousands of people came and we had an absolute blast.
Last year we ran an updated version of the event in Las Vegas with Brad Barrett from the ChooseFI Podcast. 96 people showed up and the Whatsapp group is still active from it! I wanted to run an FI event in the least FI place in the world and talk about money, lifestyle design and creating extraordinary.
We love running the online courses and connecting with you and there is something magical about being in the room together. The energy, conversation and connection that comes from being together in one spot.
Extraordinary London
Lots of people have said to us “why aren’t you doing an event in the UK?”
Now is the time. We are going to run an Extraordinary event in London to kick off our Financial Freedom tour of the UK and Ireland, celebrate the BEMs, celebrate launching our book and celebrate launching our Financial Independence music album all at once. Whoop whoop it’s going to be a big celebration. We would love you to be there with us!
The mission of the weekend will be to give you the very best we have got about lifestyle design and financial freedom. We are so excited to share everything we have learned getting to financial independence and then creating our version of extraordinary in the 5 years since. We want to help you do the same (or better!)
This will be the largest FI event the UK has ever seen. The team at The Rebel School are working to find us sponsorship and a venue and we want to put on the coolest event possible for you.

The plan for the weekend
We haven’t even got the venue sorted but we wanted to tell you the plans and see if you are as excited as we are. This is our outline schedule for the weekend (this will change as plans develop)
Saturday: Extraordinary Event
- 9am Doors open, hanging out chatting and getting to know everyone
- 10am Creating Extraordinary – The Donegans. The purpose of this first session is to help you find your version of extraordinary and know how to start working towards it.
- 12:30pm – 1:30pm Lunch
- 2pm Henry Nicholson – The Rebel School – Mission and the Global Fund
- 2:30pm Financial Freedom with The Donegans. Money and its part in creating extraordinary. The Rebel Guide to Financial Freedom book launch.
- 4:30pm Break and hanging out.
- 6pm Money Revolution Album Launch. A self-development / FI concert. Live music and the music from the album. The Donegans sharing the ideas, concepts and meaning from each song to inspire you.
- 8pm Close and collapse in bed
Sunday: Extraordinary Event
- 9am Doors open
- 10am The Donegans – Practical extraordinary. Taking the vision you created from yesterday and bringing it to life. How to take an idea and turn it into reality
- 12pm Simon Paine from The Rebel School – Your hidden superpower: how to obliterate obstacles and re-write your future
- 1pm Lunch
- 2pm Secret Session
- 3:30pm Closing ceremony and the magic ingredient
- 5pm Event closes and we hang out chatting to everyone
Wanna come along?
Would you be interested in coming to hang out with us and doing a live version of the Extraordinary Life course in London?
This will be the biggest and most fun event we have put on so far and are so excited about doing something truly spectacular for you.
Cost
Our plan is to borrow the venue and find sponsorship to put the event on for free. That is our aim.
If we don’t get the sponsorship we need; would you be open to paying £20 – £40 a head to help with the cost of the venue so we can all meet together?
Our aim is that the event is free but there are some hefty costs finding a venue for hundreds of us and putting it all on.
Details to follow
We will announce more details as we find a venue and the capacity. That will drive what we are able to do and how we make it available. For now though we want to know… are you interested? Would you like to spend a weekend in London with the Donegans?

We are starting with this weekend event in London (we had to start somewhere!) and we would love to do at least one more weekend event somewhere else in the UK or Ireland.

Sadly we wouldn’t be able to make those dates as we are away from the 12th (although not sad we are going on a great adventure!), therefore would love the opportunity for an alternate May date… 😊
Perhaps somewhere around Manchester/leeds would give the Midlands/northern based people a closer location?

I’m so excited for this event – been looking for more of a community aspect in my FI/lifestyle design journey for a while. I’m Wales based, so happy to help you facilitate something here if you ever want to, but will make the trip to London for the Extraordinary London event – happy to help out on the day as well!

I don’t think a cost/investment of 40 pounds should be too prohibitive…..if I was there Id be happy to volunteer also.

I would love to come to the London event. I am even more excited to see the locations of your Financial Freedom Meet Up Tour – as I think I might prefer smaller events – as I have this idea of connecting with like minded people who are more local to me – but who knows lets see…..

May is hit or miss with me because of a vacation with my daughter, but if it works, I’d love to be there! Just finished 90 days in the EU, so I’m glad it’s in the UK.
