Why We’re Doing This
Our main Rebel Finance School Facebook group is incredible (seriously, you lot are amazing ❤️), but it’s full of UK-specific chat about ISAs and SIPPs. That’s great if you’re in the UK… but not so helpful if you’re in the USA or New Zealand.
So, we’re going global! 🎉 We’ve created country-specific groups where you can talk about your local accounts, taxes, and investing without wading through stuff that doesn’t apply to you. Plus connect with people who are local to you.
The Rebel Community Is Exploding 🚀
This year alone, 28,000 people from 48 countries have joined the Rebel Finance School course. 🤯 That’s mind-blowing!
Katie and I are thrilled — but we’ll be honest: we’re outgrowing some of the systems we put in place when this was a tiny experiment. There are growing pains (hello, inbox chaos and Facebook threads that never end), but the way this community comes together to help each other is nothing short of inspiring.
The Rebel Finance School principles, track your spending, create a gap & invest in low cost index funds apply the world over, but we all have different tax systems and accounts.
When Katie and I first learnt about financial independence we spent ages translating America to British English, figuring out 401Ks compared to SIPPS and Roth’s compared to ISAs!
Katie and I launched the American group today and the New Zealand group has been going a while! We have started with the UK, New Zealand and America as those are the three biggest audiences by number.
